Wakame seaweed in vegetable capsules
Wakame is the most popular edible seaweed in Japanese cuisine. It was introduced to Brittany at the end of the 20th century, where it is now cultivated. Wakame is a brown, lobe-shaped edible seaweed. It is mainly used in the preparation of salads and soups (for example the Japanese soup "miso").
Wakame is a remarkable food seaweed from a nutritional point of view. It is rich in fiber and ideal for digestive comfort. But wakame is best known for its high calcium content (1300mg/100gr) up to ten times higher than the calcium content of milk (119mg/100gr). Finally, like all seaweed, it is also a source of vitamins (B, C, K) and minerals (iron, potassium, magnesium).
