Originally from Peru, maca is a taproot plant of the Brassicaceae family such as the turnip, which grows in the heights of the Andes between 4100-4500 m. altitude, 8-9 months are needed to produce the harvested root.
Our organic maca is grown on rocky soil in rough Andean terrain under intense light, strong wind and temperature ranging from -15°C to 20°C.
These extreme growing conditions favor the composition rich in nutrients and phytochemicals.
This plant is composed of carbohydrates, proteins, fatty acids and also fibers. The root of the organic Maca plant contains vitamins B1, B2, B12, C, D3, E, P and also trace elements: calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, copper, manganese, zinc, potassium and iron.
